Road Traffic Law
Q.
Do you know the ways in which a disqualification can be avoided on a 'drink driving' charge?
Do you know about your right to apply for a disqualification to be removed early?
Do you know whether the signage on a road meets the legal requirement necessary to found a conviction for exceeding the speed limit?
Are you driving on a 'road or other public place' whilst using a car park?
Are there ever circumstances when a Court can be persuaded not to impose penalty points that the law says it is obligatory to impose?
Even if you don't know answers to the above you do probably have an idea as to just how difficult you would
find it to cope without your driving licence.
A.
We can answer these questions for you (and more!) as well as being able to ensure that everything that can be done to best look after your interests is done.
The Road Traffic Acts and other legislation affecting drivers can be complex and even in simple cases an expert eye can provide information and advice that may enable you to achieve more than you thought possible. Who better to give advice than solicitors and barristers who work every day in the courts that will be dealing with your case. Almost all road traffic cases are dealt with in the Magistrates' Courts. For this reason the fact that three of our solicitors have formerly been Legal Advisors to Magistrates gives us added insight.
Representation by a solicitor at court may not cost as much as you think and in many cases it may not cost you anything at all. The service we offer includes a free initial appointment and fixed fee interviews for detailed advice. For representation at Court there are cases which attract free assistance under the 'Legal Aid' scheme and for those that do not we will be able to provide a 'Fixed Fee' option in most cases. If your case goes to trial and you are acquitted then you will be entitled to apply to recover the legal costs incurred.
Whether: you are a private individual or a business; whether you drive for a living or not; whether your case is contested or not - we have the experience to properly advice and represent you. For the more serious matters that go to the Crown Court we have an excellent and experienced team in place to look after you including our own in-house barrister.
